Monday 11th- Tuesday 12th

Musical theatre Matilda the musical  Mondays lesson was mostly rehearsing seasons of love to get back into singing it and also nothing like a dame, we went ahead and sang through seasons of love after warming our voices up around the piano so we could obviously prepare our voices and got used to the sound of it again, after mixing up the solo parts we just ran through it again. Tuesdays lesson started with a physical warm up, followed by a run through of school song to get back into it, then splitting into groups so we could go and work on the spacing and vocals in the suite whilst the other group did the same in the space, we didn’t have all of our group so we decided to work mostly on projection because after watching it back we saw that the other group were better than we were when it came to projection, after that we figured out spacing and who throws the blocks when and to who, then after swapping rooms we had another couple more times of running through with the music...

Monday 4th - Friday 8th

Musical theatre Matilda the musical  Mondays lesson was mostly rehearsing the singing side of the school song and going over the choreography again. Tuesdays lesson we started with a physical warm up, after this we of course split into our groups and one group went to rehearse their characterisation in the suite like our group did last dance lesson, then we could get to work on the alphabet blocks, after rehearsing the song with the adjustments we’d made we could start polishing the section with the blocks and learning the new section so we were up to date, this went fairly smoothly and we negotiated where everyone should be stood to throw and catch the blocks and so the audience could still see us and we could keep going with the choreography without bumping into anyone, after learning and fixing what we had we rejoined with the other group and watched them run through it, then we did our first half and then we went after them and did it again with the blocks Fridays les...

Friday 1st

Musical theatre Matilda the musical  In today’s lesson we started with a vocal and physical warm up and then we sang through and worked on stamina in our singing and dancing, then we split into our two groups and whilst the other group worked on the alphabet blocks and incorporating them into the choreography like we did last lesson but making it cleaner and better rehearsed, whilst we went ahead and worked on characterisation and played around with some of the movements to make them look better as a group, we changed some gestures, turns, poses and head movements, after practising this together we made sure we all were aware of the spacing and timing and then we watched the other group perform a couple of times and then we showed ours.
