Musical theatre Matilda the musical 

On Mondays lesson we did a few vocal warm ups and began our first run through of nothing like a dame, and then we talked about what could be better about it, then after running through again we did the same thing with Seasons of love, when we’d finished rehearsing that we got the blocks out and went over each groups version of school song, seeing your ‘double’ essentially is helpful because you can track where you are in the dance, we tried to work out the blocks as best we could and then we finished up.

On Tuesdays lesson we had a semi dress rehearsal for school song, we rehearsed properly with lighting and our main focus was on the blocks because there were parts of ours that went wrong especially when someone wasn’t there because it threw everyone off balance, we ran through and tried our best to work out who does what so it can finally flow smoothly and we know exactly what we’re doing so we can focus more on the other aspects of the dance like projection and acting skills like characterisation.

On Fridays lesson it was mostly jam packed with rehearsing our numbers for the showcase, we went through school song numerous times in order to solidify the block section and we also ran through seasons of love and nothing like a dame to get the vocals right as this was one of our last rehearsals before the showcase after re-running all of our previous numbers it has reminded us of everything we had to remember to do perfectly when we were being assessed on each one.
